While I have tried to make the information on this site as accurate as possible it's important to remember that as with any website it's best to take the information on it with a grain of salt. As you have probably noticed if you have (for example) visited several different degu sites , many of the degu sites tend to have conflicting information. While information about degus is much more available then it was ten or certainlly twenty years ago, there is still a lot of conflicting information out there.

The best thing to do is to read as many websites on them as you can then use your best judgment. While the information on several sites may conflict there is at least some that will be consistent. But ultimately the information on websites should be used to give you an idea of whether or not (for example) a degu is the right pet for you and an idea as to how to care for them. For making final type decisions about things such as diet you should always contact an expert and/or someone that has owned them and has as much experience as possible with them.
